Bachmann has NO chance of being president. Romney is saddled with his Romneycare and many Evangelicals dislike that he’s a Mormon and will likely stay home. That only leaves Perry who often shoots his mouth off. All have weaknesses the media can have fun with.

Amen, Brother Jim. The prevailing opinion among many Republicans seems to be that anyone we nominate will be able to defeat President Obama. I think that is at best, unwise and at worse, borderline foolishness. We need to choose our candidate carefully and the media needs to have little to nothing to do with that choice.

Let me let you in on a little secret. My two main candidates at the moment are Ron Paul and Rick Perry. I just finished watching an interview with Ron Paul from a local news station in Houston and the man makes a lot of sense. I know a lot of people think he is way off base, but I am becoming more convinced every day that he is more on target than those people give him credit for. He may also be more electable than we think, but his main trouble will come from the Republican establishment.

Concerning the electability of Mitt Romney, I feel just the opposite as you. I think one of the best ways to ensure a second term for President Obama is to have the former Governor of Massachusetts as the GOP candidate. But, I have been wrong before and there is no reason I can not be wrong again.

You are not wrong about the media, Larry. Journalism today is not what it once was. The overwhelming majority of of those who report in either the print media or television may as well be reporting in a liberal blog. The bias is that evident. They will do anything to see the choice of the Republican challenger to Obama to be someone Obama has a good chance of beating. They love Romney and for good reason. Nominating Romney would be like nominating Kerry to be the republican candidate, in my opinion. Pathetic!

LD, I totally agree with you about FOX making a hash out of the debate.

In our piece back then, “Fox’s Wallace Resurrects Gingrich Campaign”, we said as much and why – “all the candidates perform well and demonstrated clearly that any of them would be a significant improvement to the leadership we are suffering today. The surprise was that the ones that were low performers were Fox News and the Examiner questioners.”
Note: that included Ron Paul.

We have to also give credit for the poor performance to The Examiner people, specially Byron York and his infamous question to Bachmann about ‘submission”. With so many dire and important issues that the country is facing, he chose to be flippant.

I find myself in doubts about the management of FOX and tend to agree with Rush’s opinion that they were trying hard to satisfy the MSM.
