The Enemies of Barack Obama

I think I am going to have to stop using the phrase “I didn’t think I could be surprised anymore”, when it comes to politics. This is especially true when it comes to Barack Obama. For a President, he is stooping to new lows in his fight retain the presidency. He is stooping so low, he is actually naming private citizens, calling them out because of their political leanings. I first learned of this at The Lonely Conservative and after I commented on her post, I went looking. I read the piece she quoted from The Wall Street Journal and when that wasn’t enough for me, I found the original culprit, on Keeping GOP Honest. If you want to take the time to read the article, please scroll down to the bottom of the page. There, you will find a disclaimer, declaring for all the world to see, that Keeping GOP Honest is paid for by Obama For America.

The piece in question is called Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney’s donors, and it is nothing more than an attempt to discredit privateBarack Obama's Enemy List citizens for their choice of political philosophy. They have chosen to contribute to a Republican, and to other conservative caused, therefore they must be bad people. At least, that’s what Keeping GOP Honest would want you to take away from the article. It focuses on a group of wealthy individuals and claims they have “less-than-reputable records”. They even try to claim that some of Romney’s donors have been on the wrong side of the law.

What are some of these donors supposed crimes? Some of them have been guilty of outsourcing jobs. Some of them have been guilty of buying out companies and actually profiting from those buyouts. I agree that outsourcing jobs to other countries isn’t a necessarily a good thing, but consider who is really at fault here. Our government has made it extremely difficult to operate a business in the United States. Business owners are usually in it to make a profit. (No, profit isn’t a bad thing, no matter what Barack Obama tries to tell us.) If they can’t make a profit, these business owners are apt to close the business down and take it to a place, even another country, where they can make a profit. The government has no one to blame for this than itself.

Other crimes of those who have donated significant sums of money to Mitt Romney include associated with oil companies. People like┬áLouis Moore Bacon, Thomas O’Malley, and Kent Burton, who have profited because of their relationship to energy companies. Obama likes to call them “big oil”, in an attempt to portray them in a bad light. Given his past declarations about oil companies, this should surprise no one. It is common knowledge how he feels about “big oil”.

One other crime Keeping GOP Honest includes in the list is to dare to stand against the homosexual agenda. Frank Vandersloot, owner of Melaleuca, made the list of Romney donors for the supposed crime of being a “bitter foe of gay rights”. Just because he disagrees with the homosexual agenda, and puts his money where his mouth is, he is guilty of a crime? I would expect nothing less from the campaign to reelect Barack Obama.

People of America, is this the kind of man you want as our President? A man who has taken the office of President to new lows by making a list of people he considers to be his enemies and publishing it for everyone to see? A man who seems to consider anyone who is successful and wealthy to be his enemy? A man who has no qualms about calling the Judicial Branch of our government an “unelected group of people”. A man who has no qualms about bypassing the Legislative Branch of our government because it’s just easier to do it himself?

We need to take a long and hard look at the man emotion elected in 2008 and realize how dangerous Barack Obama is to our country.

  • Just two months Obama was outraged that private citizen Fluke was attacked by Rush Limbaugh. Yet his campaign is attempting to chill free speech and intimidate private citizens based on who the donate to. This of course isn’t the first time Obama has done this. His campaign has spent the last four years attacking the Koch Brothers. In 2008 his campaign spent weeks trying to discredit Joe the Plumber. These guys consistently single out individuals for attack based on their political outlook. Their goal is to intimidate.

What’s funny here is that all these attacks do is push people to donate to Super PAC’s which aren’t public. Also, does Obama really want to open up his own campaign donors to attack? Jon Corzine is a bundler who lost $1 billion in client funds at MF Global. There are others no doubt. Romney’s campaign should avoid commenting at all costs while sending out surrogates and bloggers to attack without mercy.

    • I didn’t think about Sandra Fluke when I was writing this post, but you are correct. They thought Rush Limbaugh went overboard against her, yet his campaign is guilty of worse “crimes”. Barack Obama is definitely not a friend of free speech.

I had thought about the connections Obama has to some of his donors, which he seems to ignore. Corzine is a good example. Tell you what, Steven. If you will write a post, detailing some of Obama’s donors, I’ll gladly repost it on Political Realities.

      • If I had to guess in the next few days you’ll see a bunch of attacks on Obama donors. I know there’s one bundler being accused of fraud in Florida. Another is affiliated with Mexican drug cartels but Obama was forced to return his bundled money back in February. There are thousands of bundlers, I don’t have the slightest idea who most of them are but I’m guessing paid GOP operatives are digging up dirt on all of them right now. This campaign is going to be super nasty.

  • This is what Liberals have done to the Koch brothers. It’s what they have done by trying to learn who donates to ballot propositions like no to gay marriage. I wish I could say I was surprised but it’s just another form of intimidation.

  • This is an attempt by the Obama campaign to scare others into not contributing to Romney. What else would you expect from a member of the Chicago political machine?

  • BHO is a crony even with the enemies list. Want stimulus funds? Donate big. Want the honor of being included on the enemies list? Donate big. Us poor slobs writing mere words about the Empty Suit can’t get past the velvet rope and onto the list. Curses!

    • Maybe us poor slobs can keep up with the mere words and increase the pressure on Obama. I have a feeling he may not know how to deal with that kind of pressure. Do you suppose that might get our names on his enemies list?

This is the way it is played in Illinois. It is nothing unusual. He has hid the Chicago way of politics fairly well, but now he has to run all out with the election. I have a feeling that he is not in the place he thought he would be and they are having to scramble and start the attack sooner than they were planning. The problem is, you start attacking “big money” and there will be repercussions. It will not be an easy win for Obama this time, but we still need to not sit back thinking we are home free. We are NOT! I doubt any of us have ever witnessed the corruption that we are going to see this time.

    • Standard operating procedure, it would seem. Barack Obama has learned his lessons well.

You raise a good point about where he is at this point in the campaign. He may have thought he had it in the bag, but that is clearly not the case. One has to wonder where the campaign will go next.

LD, it will go wherever corruption will take it. At this point, you just can’t be nice anymore. If the right has not realized that by now, it is a lost cause. There is no bi-partisan if the left is in power. It just doesn’t work that way, I am sorry to say.

        • The left’s idea of bi-partisan is for the right to do what they are told and to otherwise, sit down and shut up. I have much too big of a mouth to do that

Lou222, you are so right. We can’t sit back and let them create their fabricated “wars” (war on women, war on gays, war on children, war on elderly) and just ignore the blatant lies they say. Our people need to defend themselves and be just as vocal as the left is. i am sick of hearing “Obama is a nice guy, but his policies are screwed up”…Obama is NOT a nice guy. The man terrifies me, and I am not so sure we will ever have another Presidential election, if he wins again. The Right has a habit of “turning the other cheek”, we need to have a more “an eye for an eye” approach with this election.

  • Targeting and attacking private citizens because they are not voting for him may be a new low for Barack Obama, and that really is saying something.
