New York congressional race heats up
November 2, 2009 by LD Jackson · 2 Comments
I have been out of the news loop for most of the weekend, due to having other obligations and it appears that I have missed a lot. Mike has already written about the struggle between the conservative and moderate factions of the Republican Party and how this struggle is playing out in the race for [...]
Health care reform and illegal immigrants
September 10, 2009 by LD Jackson · 2 Comments
Let me be up front and say that I am sick of this debate about health care reform and what the legislation does or does not contain. I have tried to be open minded and fair in the articles I write and have even defended parts of the legislation that is wallowing around in Congress. [...]
President Obama speaks to Congress about health care reform
September 9, 2009 by LD Jackson · Leave a Comment
President Obama has finally made his much anticipated speech before a joint session of Congress, in an attempt to address health care reform and the partisan bickering that has been so prevalent in the last several weeks. As I watched the live feed of the speech on CNN’s website, I was struck by one thing [...]
President Obama’s speech to school children
September 7, 2009 by LD Jackson · 4 Comments
As I have already reported, there has been quite an uproar over the speech President Obama plans to give to school children across our country as they go back to school tomorrow. Many of the complaints that have arose over the speech have centered around the fact that no one knew what the President was [...]
Obama’s big gamble – Taking charge of the health care debate
September 4, 2009 by LD Jackson · 1 Comment
As I have already mentioned, President Obama has returned from vacation this week and although he is now taking it easy at Camp David, he is about to take what possibly may be one of the biggest political gambles in his career. After relinquishing the stage to Congress and it’s endless debate and negotiating sessions, [...]
President Obama to speak to school children
September 3, 2009 by LD Jackson · 11 Comments
It seems the latest uproar about President Obama is all the craze. It was announced this week that the President will deliver a speech to America’s school children on September 8th and the response has been wild. Conservatives are generally saying the President will use the speech to call our school children to arms to [...]
Senator Ted Kennedy has died
August 26, 2009 by LD Jackson · 3 Comments
When you look at the history of the Kennedy family, you see one of great tragedy. Of the four brothers in the Kennedy family, three had already died of something other than natural causes. Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts finally succumbed to cancer at the age of 77, over a year after he was diagnosed [...]
Obama caught between a liberal rock and a conservative hard place on health care reform
August 17, 2009 by LD Jackson · 21 Comments
There has been little in the news that has drawn more attention than the ongoing debate about health care reform. Even though this debate and the resulting outcome is important to America, it is already getting old to hear it repeated over and over on the news. President Obama has gone into campaign mode and [...]
The uproar over health care reform
August 8, 2009 by LD Jackson · 10 Comments
I have debated with myself about writing this post for several days. I want to be clear right up front. I am not writing this in support of the health care reform legislation before Congress, but neither am I writing this in opposition to said legislation. Clearly, our health care system needs to have some [...]
Making conservatism look bad

I learned this lesson long ago. There is nothing most people hate worse than a hypocrite. For someone to espouse a particular belief, point of view, philosophy, etc. and then for it to be discovered that they were secretly going against that belief all along is the ultimate insult and a real slap in the face of the people who believed in what they were saying or doing. It certainly does the causes they have been fighting for no good and I would contend that conservatism is in that same boat.
