John Ensign – I did nothing legally wrong
August 20, 2009 by LD Jackson · 9 Comments
You want to read about the pot calling the kettle black? Read some of the statements by Nevada Senator John Ensign concerning his extramarital affair with a former campaign aide and that is exactly what you will see. The Republican Senator is going around his home state, trying to salvage his reputation and is defending [...]
Bill Clinton secures release of American journalists held in North Korea
August 4, 2009 by LD Jackson · 6 Comments
I have been watching this story develop all day while I was at work and was unable to post my thoughts. It turns out that former President Bill Clinton made a surprise private visit to North Korea today, in an effort to secure the release of Euna Lee and Laura Ling, the two American journalists [...]
Holding our noses over David Vitter
July 27, 2009 by LD Jackson · 5 Comments
Is it too much to expect, if we simply ask those who claim to have conservative values and standards to be living up to the values and standards they have preached to others? I think not and it bothers me when I see a United States Senate race shaping up like the one in Louisiana. [...]
Oklahoma City–Revisited 14 years later
April 19, 2009 by LD Jackson · Leave a Comment
April 19, 1995 is a day like several other days in our history. I have heard stories of how people who were alive when John F. Kennedy was assassinated were able to remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when news of the shooting arrived. I can remember exactly what was going on the day the World Trade Center was attacked on September 11, 2001. Another such day is the day Timothy McVeigh parked a rented Ryder truck in front of the Alfred P.Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City
The legacy of George W. Bush
December 8, 2008 by LD Jackson · 6 Comments
As we near the end of President Bush’s 2nd and last term in office, I thought it would be fitting to write about the legacy of one of the most maligned Presidents our country has ever had and most certainly, one of the most unpopular Presidents in my lifetime.
One of George Bush’s biggest failures has [...]
Mike Huckabee–Doing The Right Thing
November 19, 2008 by LD Jackson · 9 Comments
I have refrained from writing an article about Mike Huckabee and the release of his new book, “Do The Right Thing”, simply because I have yet to read the book. From the excerpts I have read, it appears Huckabee was honest in telling us about his campaign and how it all went down, from taking [...]
Is the economic bailout package really needed?
September 30, 2008 by LD Jackson · 2 Comments
About a week and a half ago, President Bush’s Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Paulson, came to Congress and announced we were in the middle of a major economic crisis and asked for $700 billion to straighten the mess out. Since that time, the American taxpayer has been bombarded with the “news” that if the [...]
Mitt Romney is at it again
January 1, 2008 by LD Jackson · Leave a Comment
Do you remember the reaction Mitt Romney had a few weeks ago when Mike Huckabee did an editorial about the foreign policy of President Bush? If your memory fails you, Romney came out very strongly and said Huckabee needed to apologize the President. I want you to take a look at a news story from [...]
Mitt Romney’s “did he or did he not”
December 31, 2007 by LD Jackson · Leave a Comment
Here is a video from MSNBC’s Hardball that really brings to light the inflation of the facts that Mitt Romney is so guilty of. Mike Huckabee is called to task for every little “gaffe” he may make about foreign policy. It’s about time someone Mitt Romney is held to the same standards and not given [...]
Will the real Mitt Romney please raise his hand?
December 30, 2007 by LD Jackson · Leave a Comment
Up until now, I have pretty much kept my gloves on and stayed away from personally attacking any candidate. I much prefer to focus on why I support Mike Huckabee for President, being that it is a much more pleasant topic to discuss. However, since Mitt Romney insists on bringing out negative ads against Mike [...]
