The American electorate is swayed by personality and promises. Few voters actually want real change, which is why they’re so willing to continue to vote for establishment guys.

It’s hard for me to understand why the American voter can not see past the “coolness” factor and look at the substance of the candidates. I was stunned because she’s very pro-life, pro-gun ownership, anti-gay marriage, and fiscally conservative. I asked her “why did you vote for Obama? He is literally the antithesis of everything you believe in and hold dear.”

“I don’t know. He seemed cool and I thought it would be neat to have a black president. I definitely regret my decision, though.”
