I’ll be the first to admit, Romney’s delegate count seems insurmountable, but the inevitability of it all rubs me the wrong way. It feels like he is being shoved down our throats and just isn’t right. That is one reason I am seriously considering voting for Gary Johnson in the general election.

That may be true, but I believe we must also take into account the large number of voters who are very dissatisfied. If they leave the Republican Party, the GOP nominee doesn’t stand a chance, no matter who it is.

I believe that if this goes to the convention two months should be ample time to mount an offensive against Barack Obama, he has given us plenty to work with and it the gas prices continue to climb and inflation coninues to rise he will be weakened to the point where nobody will remember how ugly the Republican primary was.

I agree Teresa, I want this to drag out all the way to the convention because if it doesn’t, it means Romney is the nominee. And the only thing worse than a brokered convention is nominating a liberal, cap and trade supporting, mandate imposing, fee raising politician from Massachusetts. Mitt Romney cannot and will not beat Barack Obama, but if we get to the convention we might just be able to have a more conservative influence on the nominee.

Thanks for your comment on Political Realities. Like you, I am a supporter of Ron Paul. However, as much as I would like to see him win the nomination, I can’t see a valid path for him to accomplish that. At the most, I hope to see him have enough influence at the convention to sway the platform and the ticket in the right direction.

I completely understand your sentiment, Teresa. On the other hand, I can also understand how some people fear the nomination going to the convention will give us very little time to gather our forces for the general election. I honestly do not know what the proper answer is.

I hope it does go to the convention! I am sick and tired of Mitt and the rest of those so called conservatives. I hope Ron Paul can get up there and light a fire under the establishment and hopefully smoke them out. I am just so sick and tired of these so called republicans running out party giving us crap like McCain, Dole, W, and Romney to vote for. We have the best chance for a landslide victory this election cycle and we get Romney as the front runner . . . he’ll be lucky to eke out a victory. A real conservative would have Obama conceding before Ca’s polls closed just like Reagan and Carter!!!
