The thing is, the politicians who believe in spend, spend, spend, always think if it hasn’t worked, then they haven’t spent enough. That mindset is part of the reason why we are in the shape we are in right now.

Smoke and mirrors is a good choice of words. Just like the tax cut I mentioned in the post, the one that wasn’t really a tax cut.

It is unbelievable to me that the president can look at the failure of the stimulus efforts he has made in the past and then think that what we need is more of the same policies to fix the economy. He is fully convinced that the stimulus failed because it wasn’t big enough. The man has no idea what he is doing and we are not going to get out of this funk until he is gone.

That’s the God’s honest truth, Trestin. I really, really hate to be so down on our President, but he is flailing around with no sense of direction. He has no clue what to do with the economy, so he will probably choose to throw yet another stimulus package at it, hoping something will eventually stick.

I think there are a lot of things that could be done, but as you have pointed out, it seems we unable to get any of them accomplished. Some of the fault for that lies on both sides of the political aisle. As for President Obama and his new plan, it is bound to be all show and no results. He has yet to depart from his failed policies and I have no reason to suspect he will depart from them in anything he proposes.
