Obama Administration Blames GSA Spending On Bush

The Obama administration knows how to spend money and blame someone else

The Obama administration blames Bush? By now, I am sure most of you have heard about the debacle at the General Services Administration (GSA). To be sure, the folks at the GSA really GSAknow how to throw a party, to the tune of spending over $840,000 on a conference in Las Vegas. Not only that, they are meticulous planners, making several trips to Las Vegas to set things up, as well as allowing several employees to make a “dry run” of the conference, before it actually took place. One has to wonder if the figure above includes the cost of the planning and dry run, or is just the cost of the conference itself. At any rate, it’s a lot of money.

Since the story broke about the lavish conference party, more than a few people have been fired and others have resigned. That is as it should be, as they blew a wad of cash that would have made the highest high-roller in Las Vegas proud. Oh, but wait, there’s more. You need to hear the spin being put on this by the Obama administration. Would you like to venture a guess who they are trying to blame? Let’s look at a quote from Fox News.

The Obama administration is responding to the recent report that shows a federal agency spent more that $800,000 on a lavish conference near Las Vegas by putting some of the blame on the Bush administration.

“At least we have taken, bold, swift forceful action to hold those responsible accountable and put in place protections to make sure this never happened again,” a White House official told Fox News.

Bold, swift, and forceful action? Are you kidding me? Do they think we are so stupid to really believe the spin they are attempting to put on this story? The Obama administration knew about this spending in May 2010. If that is taking swift action, I would hate to see what the definition of slow action is.

The administration also argued Friday night that the cost of the Western Regional Conference increased sharply under the Bush White House — from $93,000 in 2004 to $323,855 in 2006 to $655,025 in 2008, then $840,616 in 2010, or just 28 percent under Obama.

This is the only part of the spin that I will give the Obama administration. We all know how spending increased under George W. Bush. That doesn’t mean the Obama administration has the right to blame the lavish party that took place in Las Vegas on Bush. I thought they may have moved past blaming Bush, but evidently not. They must have a standing order to throw Bush’s name out there as a last resort.

You can consider this a rant. I believe this is indicative of how the Obama administration works. They refuse to take responsibility for their actions, always looking for someone or something to blame. President Obama himself is guilty of this, having made comment after comment when he first took office about his “predecessor”. Everything under the sun was Bush’s fault. He is still blaming the economy on what happened during the Bush years. Obama refuses to take responsibility for anything and that attitude has trickled down through his entire administration.

When is the American voter going to wake up and realize how the Obama administration operates?
