Sarah Palin on the Rush Limbaugh program

I just came across the transcript of the call Governor Sarah Palin put into the Rush Limbaugh program today and although I don’t really care for a lot of the things he says or does, I really wish I could have listened today. From reading the transcript, she looks like she really did a good job with the interveiw and was very strong with her statements. You can read the entire transcript on the Rush Limbaugh website, but there was one part of it where she really called Barack Obama out on his plans to raise taxes.

GOVERNOR PALIN: That’s a good question. (laughing) No, because I’m thinking about November 4th, and I am just so absolutely passionate about the job that we have in front of us from now ’til November 4th, getting people to understand how important paying attention is. Let me bring up one more thing real quickly about the economy and taxes and Barack Obama and his flip-flopping and his inconsistencies there that should… Sheesh. This stuff should make people question what his intentions are. Now, we’re pressing Obama on taxes, right, because he’s known as somebody who would raise taxes on you. He’s voted 94 times for higher taxes, including increased taxes on people making just $42,000 a year. So, he said repeatedly he would consider abandoning his plan for all these huge tax increases of his if the economy was “weak,” quote. He said if it were weak. But even today, not being able to admit that, okay, the economy is weak, but it’s not weak enough for Obama to say he won’t raise taxes. He will raise taxes. People have to understand that and then, from there, let them make the best decision.

It gives a person pause to stop and think about that. Just how bad will it have to get before Barack Obama will concede the economy is bad enough to cause him to call off his tax hikes? When you get that one figured out, let me know.

That’s my take!

Larry

    Hi Larry,
I was reading your post, and while I share your concerns taxes; and let’s face it, who wants to pay more???? I honestly have no desire to pay another dime; but I’m curious how we are supposed to pull ourselves out of the financial well that we are in, thanks to the current administration, without looking at taxes?
Don’t get me wrong, I also believe that we should all be asking the question, “What the He _ _ did you guys in Washington do with all our money??????” And I mean that with all sincerity.
Also, the number that Sarah Palin refers to as Barack Obama’s votes to raise taxes, many of those votes, and a good deal more, were voted for by McCain as well. Unfortunately, McCain and Palin think that just because they verbalize something, doesn’t make it true.

I’ve been gone for a couple of days, and haven’t been able to blog any. I did hear some of the interview today on the Bud Hedinger show out of Orlando. What I heard was pretty good. Senator Obama really does plan on raising taxes, and people should be aware of it. I like the fact Governor Palin is calling the Illinois senator out regarding his suspect relationships with some of his friends. Way to go, Gov.

    Lmh1233,
You have a good point, something needs to be done about our current economic crisis and the folks in Washington certainly need to be called on the carpet for what they have done with the money we pay in taxes.

As for the number of votes, I can’t address that right off the top of my head, but I do know that Obama very much intends to raise taxes on a lot of small business owners and that plan is a dangerous one. It could very well drive a lot of them out of business and hurt our economy. See the article I just published for more information about his socialist tendencies. I also plan to write an article that addresses his “tax cut for 95% of Americans”.
