Rudy Giuliani’s speech at the National Republican Convention

I wasn’t planning on blogging about Rudy Giuliani’s speech at the Republican National Convention, but as I was watching, I just couldn’t help myself. Anyone who has read my blog for very long will know very well how much I like Mike Huckabee. I thought Huckabee’s speech was very well done, but I really believe Giuliani’s speech is better.

I am still in the process of watching him speak, but so far, he has done the best job of contrasting Barack Obama’s inexperience with the experience of John McCain. He made it very clear how Obama has no experience in anything, except for being a community organizer and emersing himself in Chicago politics. He also pointed out that Barack Obama couldn’t even decide how to vote in the Senate and voted present. I didn’t realize it, but Obama has voted present over 130 times.

As the speech goes on, I am more and more amazed at how he is drawing the contrasts between John McCain and Barack Obama. Something else he has pointed out is how the Democrats didn’t mention Islamic terrorists one single time during their convention in Denver. He makes it very clear that John McCain’s first priority is to keep America safe.

I must say I am really enjoying this speech and I may update this post after it is over and after Sarah Palin is finished with her speech. I am going to try to find a video link and post it later.

That’s my take!

According to Rudy the term islamic terrorism is only an insult to terrorists.

I like Mike Huckabee, very charismatic guy. Rudy on the other hand is an obnoxious parody of a man.

  2. Larry says:

Yes, Rudy can be kind of obnoxious at times, but I still think he did a wonderful job tonight.

As for his statement about the term islamic terrorism, I am thinking you maybe missed the point. He was trying to point out that the Democrats never mentioned the term once during their convention because they didn’t want to insult anyone. He was meaning that the only people who would be insulted by that were the actual terrorist.

rudy spoke many, many lies throughout that speech and was incredibly rude in a formal setting. he lost himself a great deal of hillary voters and independents with the ruthlessness of that speech :\

  4. Larry says:

It’s amazing that the liberal Democrats can spend their entire convention bashing President Bush and John McCain; they have a right to disagree and to try to draw contrasts between what they will do and what McCain will do. Now that the Republican National Convention is underway and the tables are turned, it’s lies? Rudy was relentless, but he spoke the truth. Just because you do not believe it doesn’t make it any less so.

  5. Howard Bigelow says:

Rudy’s speech was full of his viscous condescending tone and laced with lies. The symbolism of having the Manhattan skyline in the background with the Trade Towers noticeably missing behind him. It is ironic for a guy who placed the emergency management headquarters in building 7 so it couldn’t be used on that horrible day.

  6. Larry says:

    Howard,
You say his speech was laced with lies? Explain what you mean. What did he lie about?

  7. Howard Bigelow says:

He claims that Obama has no experience in anything, except for being a community organizer and immersing himself in Chicago politics. He also pointed out that Barack Obama couldn’t even decide how to vote in the Senate and voted present while there but the truth is that he has voted 130 times.
MAYBE my personal dislike for Giuliani consumes me and I get a little dramatic about his “lying” when my real issues for him is based in ironies that always surface when this man speaks. Last night, he made a comment on how the question of Palin having enough time to spend with her children while being VP would never be asked of a man. Coming from a guy who is alienated from his own children! He was having affairs while being married while they were growing up. He waves the “bloody flag” of 9/11 when ever he gets a chance but I didn’t see him making a big effort for those who became ill when they cleaned out the ruble of the World Trade Towers.
The man is so arragant too, if you don’t want to take my word for it, watch “Rudy Giuliani’s answer to everything”

and see for yourself how he just laughs off every hard question that Tim Russert throws at him. Sorry to vent on your blog but I have alot of issues with this guy!!!

    Howard,
As long as you keep it nice, I don’t mind a vent now and then. So far, I don’t have a problem with what you done.

As for Giuliani, I am not particularly fond of him myself, but I did think his speech was good last night. As for his comments about Obama, I believe he was right when he said Obama was inexperienced. The man has no experience in leadership at all. He has led nothing in his life and I do not believe he is ready to lead our country, except down the wrong path.

    Jesus was a community organizer…just sayin’…

I thought Rudys speech was great. and Angie, Adolf Hitler was a roman catholic and so am I, that doesn’t mean that I am or going to be a killing, racest, dictator.
