Mike Huckabee interview with the Wisconsin Journal Sentinel

I just came across this fantastic interview of Mike Huckabee by the Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.  Several weeks ago, Huckabee was called to task about some comments he made about ammending the Constitution to meet God’s standards.  This interview gives Hukcabee a chance to address the way those comments were taken and what he was really talking about.  I urge everyone to watch this interview.  Please take note, the video is a little slow to load and it is divided into several different parts.  Give it a minute to load and it should play through all the parts, with slight pauses between each as the next part loads. Again, I urge everyone, Huckabee supporter or not, to watch this interview.  It gives Huckabee a chance to really elaborate on some the questions he has been facing in the last part of the campaign.  Another of the questions he gets to answer is about education and the way it was improved in Arkansas.  The interview is a great interview, but please do not take my word for it.  Watch it and see for yourself.

That’s my take!

“The handcuffs are on government not people…the government’s position is hands off in either preferring one religion to another or prohibiting one.” – Mike Huckabee quote from the video you posted.

It would be nice if Huckabee practiced what he preached. This statement directly opposes a marriage amendment. How does banning gay marriage in the U.S. enhance freedom or limit government? Huckabee engages in doublespeak. I recommend basing your political decisions on political issues, not religious impositions.

He also lied when he said he was the only Republican who predicted a recession. He actually stole that argument from Ron Paul, who had been saying so for months. Paul actually predicted the sub-prime mortgage crisis in 2002. It is nice to see Huckabee listening to the only visionary statesman in Washington. Unfortunately, Huckabee won’t acknowledge his sources, ignores truth, perverts his religion, and selfishly encourages his followers to abandon everything God-given within themselves to practice idolatry.

  2. Larry says:

The Constitution is a document that was made to be ammended. If we can put an ammendment into the Constitution that gives us the right to bear arms, why can we not add one that would declare marriage the way God intended it to be? What is so wrong with that?

As for Huckabee lying about being the only Republican who predicted a recession, I did not have the chance to watch the Michigan debate. However, I was under the impression Huckabee was the only candidate who spoke up during the debate and said the economy might not be as well off as the rest of the candidates were saying. Does that mean he stole that argument from Ron Paul? I think not.

I would like to know how Huckabee is encouraging his supporters to practice idolatry. I have no clue what you are talking about.
