Kevin Jennings and GLSEN’s reading list

Who is Kevin Jennings?

He is the chap who was hired by President Obama to be the safe-school czar, without having to go through a Senate nomination process. You can get more background information by reading my previous article. When I wrote that article this past October, I had some very strong misgivings about Jennings and his previous life as a homosexual activist. I stated some of those misgivings in the article and did my best to stay as objective as possible. There is new information coming to light however, that causes me great concern and I can no longer say that I am objective about Jennings and the homosexual agenda he is pushing.

glsen-adAs noted in the earlier article, Kevin Jennings is the founder of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network. Better known as GLSEN, they claim to be in favor of eliminating discrimination of any kind, but especially discrimination that is based on sexual orientation. They promote advertisements such as the one on the left as a way of keeping up appearances. On the surface, GLSEN looks to be an organization that wants to do only that, but when you begin to dig a little deeper, it’s not quite so clear. I can not vouch for the direction they intended to go when they were first founded, but I believe it is safe to say they have moved well beyond the “preventing discrimination” stage and well into the stage of actively promoting their choice of sexual lifestyle.

If there is any doubt left as to their intentions, I believe it can be laid to rest. Matt, from Conservative Hideout 2.0 and Jim, from Gateway Pundit both have very detailed articles about these intentions. They describe, in very graphic and explicit detail, a reading list that GLSEN has listed on their website. This is a reading list that one would assume is tailored to further the agenda GLSEN has in mind and from reading some of the excerpts that have been provided, I would say it would do just that. The only question is, what agenda does GLSEN have in mind.

I pondered about posting some of the excerpts myself, but because they are so explicit, I decided not to do so. I do urge you to read both articles and at least a portion of the excerpts. Without going into much detail, one of the books actually promotes homosexual acts between first graders. Another talks about homosexual acts between a school-aged boy and older men as if it were a normal activity. Do we need to be reminded that those acts are illegal? I don’t know about you, but I find that very disturbing and it leads me to two questions. What does a book that talks about such a subject have to do with discrimination or violence in our schools? How does President Obama justify putting someone like Kevin Jennings in charge of the safety of our schools?

I will be so bold as to say such a book has nothing to do with discrimination or violence in our schools and everything to do with promoting a homosexual lifestyle at a very early age. That takes me to the answer to the second question. There is no way our President can justify the position he has given to Kevin Jennings. He should be removed from that position and GLSEN should be forced to remove themselves from any affiliation they may have with our school system. Anything less is going to leave the most vulnerable of our citizens in grave danger of being subverted by a twisted and perverted lifestyle.

Jennings has to go. I read the full post at Conservative Hideout and it was disgusting. Jennings should resign and Obama for once in his life should apolize to the American people. The first could happen, but the latter will never occur from this guy who thinks his sh*t doesn’t stink. I’ve had enough of these progressives and they ungodly, anti-american views. Its gone past the election thing and is now moving toward uncharted waters. There is right and wrong in this world and the grays of these b******s is sickening.

What a disturbing story! I’ll be surprised if Jennings makes it to the end of business Monday before being forced to resign. There is no issue of questioning whether Jennings can be held accountable — the story is quite specific, the website still has the reading list, the books mentioned are still on the list, and Jennings could not possibly disavow the books or the organization. The only possible issue is whether the books are accurately transcribed and I’ll assume they are. So Jennings has to go and immediately. Ron raises a very interesting question — will Obama apologize? He’s right , it probably won’t happen but he should and without passing blame for insufficient vetting. When you hire the exec director of GLSEN you need to know EXACTLY what you’re getting.

I tried to read the first article that you linked to but I could not get through it. This is disgusting! This man needs to go RIGHT NOW!
There is no reason to be teaching first graders about sex at all at this early of an age, never mind this filth that he wants them to read.
It seems to me that the homosexual activists are taking on the same gameplan as the abortion activists. Anything that they perceive as a restriction on abortion– from banning partial birth abortion to not allowing federal funding to be used for abortion– they see as an attack on abortion. They feel that any restriction on abortion will lead to the banning of abortion. That is what I see the homosexual activists’s gameplan becoming– any attack on homosexual behavior, even a man raping a boy, is an attack on homosexual activity in general. They will stop at nothing to promote their agenda.

  4. Mike says:

Well, now I think the Mr Pink Eyes analysis has overreached. For one thing I find the comment that pro-choice advocates that “Anything that they perceive as a restriction on abortion– from banning partial birth abortion to not allowing federal funding to be used for abortion– they see as an attack on abortion. They feel that any restriction on abortion will lead to the banning of abortion” completely accurate but humorous coming from a Second Amendment proponent who thinks any hint of gun control is a complete on gun owners that will lead to the complete elimination of guns. And second, I admit that my familiarity with the gay-lesbian agenda is thin so I can only comment on my general impression; but I do not perceive the agenda of the wider gay community to be in sync with the stated goals of GLSEN especially as regards the educational aspect and the reading list. In fact, I will be surprised if membrs of the “mainstream” gay community do not join in the denunciation of the reading list and support the ousting of Jennings. It will be an interesting couple of days to come.

    • Mr Pink Eyes says:

That is an interesting point Mike. I may have overreached, but in regards to gun control, the difference is that it is specifically mentioned in the constitution. I do oppose federal restrictions on guns, I believe they are unconstitutional, but I do believe that the states have the right to impose some restrictions. That is consistent with my stand on abortion. I oppose abortion, but I am not a person who believes I can impose that belief on others and I also believe that abortion should be in the hands of the states. When I write about abortion it is because of my personal opposition to it. Having said that, I find partial birth abortion to be appalling.

I hope that you are right about the gay community, I hope that they come out against this man, he has taken the issue too far.

Hmm, who want to wager that the broadcast networks don’t cover it?

  6. carter says:

i checked the glsen links and the books on the suggested reading list were not the books that were excerpted in the other article.

    • LD Jackson says:

You are mistaken, carter. I have checked the links myself and the books that were excerpted are on the suggested reading list supplied by GLSEN. They are broken up by age groups, but they are on the list.

  7. Arjen says:

I don’t think you understand what you mean by “homosexual lifestyle”. As a matter of fact, I think you haven’t read anything remotely scientific regarding homosexuality and the roots thereof. If you had even a passing knowledge of the things about which you claim expertise, you would understand that the “lifestyle” is not a choice.

If you honestly believe that homosexuality is a choice, you will have to admit that you could freely enjoy a homosexual relationship just as easily as you could a heterosexual one. If not, you should consider educating yourself before you start crying conspiracy.

Of course, this comment will only serve to rouse the ire of the great majority of your undereducated, willfully ignorant, mouth-breathing readers, but the small minority who rethink their incorrect assumptions about human sexuality are worth the raised blood pressure.

    • LD Jackson says:

      Arjen,

I beg to differ. I know exactly what I mean by the term homosexual lifestyle. I don’t have to read anything scientific regarding this behavior to know what it is and how unnatural it is, completely against the laws of nature and of God.

Yes, I do believe it is a choice and that does not mean I have to admit that I could enjoy such an unnatural act. As for the conspiracy goes, I do not believe I used that term, but I will say this. The leaders of the homosexual movement have an agenda that includes normalizing their lifestyle as much as possible. They have proven this through their actions, time after time.

Just because I or some of my readers disagree with this choice of lifestyle does not mean we are undereducated, willfully ignorant, or any of the other terms you used. It just means we see this choice of lifestyle for what it is and for the danger it presents to our society.
