Huckabee’s tax speech, the entire speech

As you know, a couple of days ago, there was a snippet of a speech that surfaced on You Tube that put our candidate in a very bad light. It was about one or two minutes of an almost twenty minute speech, given in May 2003, by Governor Huckabee as he opened a special session of the Arkansas State Legislature.

This special session was to deal specifically with budget shortfalls and how to correct them. The Governor and the state legislature actually had no choice but to act, since the Arkansas State Constitution requires a balanced state budget. Admittedly, the snippet of the speech that surfaced earlier in the week makes Huckabee look pretty bad, but the entire speech puts into context the statements Huckabee made in asking for a tax increase and I believe makes it very clear, Mike Huckabee is anything but a tax and spend liberal. It is in two parts and you can actually fast forward on the first part to where Governor Huckabee begins his speech.

Part one

Part two

That’s my take!

Hey man. The original YouTube links were broken last night so your current links don’t function. The poster moved them to another location and I have updated them, you’ll have to as well.
Thanks for helping spread “the whole story”!

Thank you so much for posting the link to these videos. They are invaluable in determing the CONTEXT of the budget crisis Arkansas was facing when he made these comments.
