America does not deserve Barack Obama

Throughout this entire week, a story by Bob Novak has been circulating, in which he stated that Mike Huckabee was publicly endorsing John McCain, but was privately saying that America deserved Barack Obama as her President. This information supposedly came from a “creditable” religious right source that claimed to have first-hand knowledge of Huckabee’s statements. I do not know if Huckabee feels this way, only he can answer that. He has came out with a very strong statement that denies the story is true. You can read this very strong denial here. Personally, I believe what Mike Huckabee says in denying the reports. I do not see how anyone on the religious right could say America deserves someone like Barack Obama as her President.

Consider this. How could America deserve someone that wants to raise taxes on Americans? We are already under enough of a tax burden, as it is. The average American family has a hard time making ends meet. I am not talking about people like President Bush, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or John Edwards. Those people haven’t had a hard time making ends meet for a long time. I was listening to NPR yesterday morning and they were talking about how Hillary Clinton was in debt 20 million dollars and they were wondering how she was going to pay off the debt. I am sure she won’t have to worry too much. She will pull it off in one way or the other.

Consider this as well. How could America deserve someone who actively fights against the rights of the unborn child? Barack Obama isn’t someone who is just fighting for the “right of a woman to choose”. He has worked against the passage of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. How could we deserve someone who wants to refuse medical aid to an infant who just survived a murder attempt?

As convinced as I am that our country is in a terrible shape, there is no way I could ever agree that we deserve Barack Obama. Listening to him speak on the radio this morning, he was talking about having one America that would rise and fall together. He sounds good and talks a good talk. He has deceived a lot of people into believing he is the right man for the job. He has convinced a lot of Christians that he is the right man to vote for. I just wished they would stop listening to his rhetoric and start looking at how he as conducted himself in the Illinois state legislature and in the United States Senate. Looking at that record and at the things he has said about America, the man would cause irreparable damage to America and her citizens.  The idea that he may very well be our next President turns my stomach with fear.

That’s my take!

Larry

Well, Huckabee and his followers seem to think rather like Rev. Wright that when bad things happen to America it’s because Americans (the gay ones, mainly) are the reason for it. So if America “deserves” Obama he may be thinking Obama is a curse for America because (just guessing here) it didn’t go for Mike Huckabee?

I am not Obama fan. I don’t think we deserve Barack Obama. I think we have been under a terrible president for too long and I can’t take it anymore.

I am a supporter of Mike Huckabee and like him, I do not believe every thing bad that happens to America is the result of homosexuals. Our country is in a terrible shape and I believe it is an affect of a lot of different things.

This is so interesting to me.

I believe that we “reap what we sow” and that a great deal of the things that happen to us – individually or corporately – good or bad, are the consequences of our own decisions.

So…If Obama wins it will be the result of the decision making of a majority of Americans and whatever comes as a result of that decision will be our responsibility as a corporate whole.

That is why it is so important to not vote for the most electable, handsome or whatever, but for the one that will do what is best for the majority of America and that you personally feel is best suited for that job.

If more Americans (conservatives) had done that in the primaries, perhaps the Republican Party would now have Huckabee going up against Obama (or Clinton) instead of McCain.

As far as the homosexual issue, I, right now, apologize for all of those who blame homosexuals. Sin is sin and we all are guilty of engaging in sin so no one person or group is anymore responsible than another when it comes to America as a whole.

Things make look dire at this moment in time but “we the people” have the power to create great and lasting change if we will just engage.

I read this great quote in this book I am reading – Leave us Alone – that sums this up.

“A voter who also contributes money, time, and activism multiplies his or her impact on an election.”

That is what Huck*PAC, F3 Coalition, ACT! For America and the many other grassroots movements do. They provide us the ability to multiply our activism.

    Dominique,

I believe we reap what we sow as well. My point in this article is that the damage done to our country by a President Obama may be so great as to never be repaired. A lot of people are being swayed by him, people who should know better, and I am afraid those people are going to sway this election in his direction. It is not a pleasant thought.

Yes, Jim Inhofe does rock. He is very well liked in Oklahoma, as is Tom Coburn. The thing I like about both of our Senators is how they have stood up to the establishment and made their voices heard, even though it isn’t popular with the leaders in Congress.

Damage done by a President McCain would be worse, most people are too ignorant on economics so let me fill you in.

McCain’s budget plans and tax cut plans don’t pan out, economists have run the numbers and they don’t look good. Under McCain the 2013 Deficit would be $780 billion, by 2017 it would be 1.2 trillion. Our Debt as a percentage of GDP would be far higher than today. Meaning higher interest on our debt and even more deficit spending to cover the gaps. Eventually our Debt would pass our GDP.

By comparision neither Obama nor Clinton’s economic plans even come close to McCain’s deficits.
