2008–Your candidate, your decision!!
As I have posted earlier, the 2008 US Presidential election campaign is getting ready to kick into high gear. I would think that our Christian leaders would see the need to get behind a candidate and help push him through the primary season. It seems, however, they are having trouble coming to a consensus about whom to support. I have a lot of respect for people like James Dobson, but they only true stance I have seen him take on this issue is that he will not vote for Rudy Giuliani, if he becomes the Republican nominee. Well, let me make this a little easier for us all. It is not the job of James Dobson or any other Christian leader to make our decision for us. We, you and I, are the ones who will decide who wins this election.
It appears that most of the Christian leaders have already or are getting ready to throw their support behind Fred Thompson, because they think he can be elected, and because he is talking about conservative values. They say Mike Huckabee is not electable and he doesn’t have enough money. Well, I say he can be elected, if you and I will just cast our vote according to our conscience, not according to whom the media and our Christian leaders say can be elected. It is our decision, your’s and mine. Let’s throw our own weight around a little and elect a candidate that will reflect our values and ideas. Mike Huckabee is that man.
