You are right, I believe. The economic conditions facing most Americans, are not going unnoticed. I just hope enough of us realize what Obama has been trying to accomplish is doing nothing but making things worse.

There is no doubt, the media will be relentless. However, many Americans are feeling the pain of this lousy administration. People are broke and fed up. Let’s hope money will talk, or lack there of, to vote Obama out.

They’re leaning towards Gary Johnson of course! I went to law school in Cleveland and the key to winning in Ohio is two fold. It’s getting enough independents to vote for you in suburban Cleveland and getting the base out near Cincinnati. I haven’t talked to many Cleveland folks, so I’d be curious to hear any analysis Country Thinker has.

This could go down as one of the ugliest campaigns in history. The battle lines have already been draw between the rich and the poor, and black and white and this will not be a fair fight as the media remains solidly behind Obama. Romney has to be prepared for this and I still don’t know whether or not Romney has what it takes to go after Obama has hard as he needs to.

Maybe Country Thinker will weigh in on your comment about Ohio. That is his home state. I do know he is actively working for the Gary Johnson campaign, but he may have a sense of how the independents are leaning.

I agree, Jim. He doesn’t need to be reactive, so much as he needs to be proactive. Given Obama’s record, it should be easy enough. However, I hope he responds strongly to the attacks that are sure to come.

The boys over at MSNBC will say and do anything to get Obama re-elected. That they attack Romney because he doesn’t drink is evidence of that. The biggest question for Romney at this point is whether he can inspire Republicans to really back him. At this point, Republicans seem to be inspired to simply vote against Obama. Anecdotaly the desire to vote against Obama seems to be as strong as the desire to vote for certain candidates in the past. (Bush, especially in 2004 for example)

The problem Romney faces though is that he’s still down in Ohio, Virginia and Florida. He’ll win Florida, especially if he picks Rubio. He likely will win Virginia as well. But he has to have Ohio and right now he isn’t connecting with independents in that state. That doesn’t mean he won’t in the fall, but right now it doesn’t look good.
