I haven’t noticed, but I seldom watch him speak. It takes very little of his voice and attitude to make me want to turn him off.

Lately he has not been doing so well WITH the teleprompter, have you noticed? Almost like he is preoccupied and not paying attention or as if he had not seen what was popping up before that. Little by little, I believe he is losing a grasp on reality and all the negatives being thrown at him are having an effect on him. What do you think his breaking point might be?

I thought about the teleprompter when I was watching the speech last night. Everyone talks about how well Obama can speak, but in reality, he can’t. He does know how to read a speech, but giving one off the cuff or with notes, like Romney did last night, isn’t his best side. He stumbles around a lot when he is put into that situation.

Crap is a nice way of putting it, Shane. The stuff the left is already coming up with is shameful. I have a post rolling around in my head that I plan to write for tomorrow. It will highlight some of the idiotic statements already being launched at Romney. I am not a big fan of the man, but my hackles are getting up at this stupidity. Stay tuned.

Well, I listened to his speech and he sounded pretty good. The problem I have is, if he is going to be “ruthless” as the opposition will be. I have the opinion that he probably has it in him or he would not be where he is today. The question is IF he will bring that side out or not. I am sure he is aware of what he is up against on the other side, but he has alot of convincing of the right to get their votes. It appears he is not in need of the teleprompter, so if he can go up against Obama without the use of that teleprompter, he might have a chance. With that being said, I did like his message and will give him my vote if he is the one. You mentioned John McCain, I had a harder time wanting to support him than Romney, let’s hope Romney will not have that problem.

I’ll admit, I haven’t seen an entire Romney speech throughout this entire process. I know he is a polished speaker, but he often can come across as not very genuine. This speech had those moments, but overall was very good. I watched a video of Allen West on Fox and Friends (not sure when it was from). West stressed the importance of talking about core points that people can really relate to. Mitt did this in this speech. He talked about higher costs of living, no improvement in real estate values, no improvement in the job market, etc. He kept his speech very simple, covering core Conservative values and it was effective in my opinion.

I also felt it was a good stragety to get into how Obama will run his campaign. We know the crap he will spew and I think it is a good stragety to call him out on it before he does it. He has no record to run on…

Overall, it doesn’t matter how well Mitt runs this campaign, this will be a battle to the end. The media will tear him apart and our side is still divided. I agree with Larry, he is a better candidate than McCain. I think his VP choice will be huge in this process and I think he will fare better in debates with Obama, but this is going to come down to the wire, which is pretty scary when we are going up against someone with the track record of Obama…

It certainly isn’t going to be a fair fight. Romney is going to have to fight to stay viable in the eyes of the voters. The media is going to be a big part of that fight, just as it was in 2008. Between the political and economic circumstances surrounding the election and the media being in the bag for Obama, John McCain never stood a chance. I think Romney may fare better, simply because he is a better candidate than McCain, but it isn’t going to be easy.

I don’t think Romney is going to fight in the same way that Obama will. And Romney will not have the journolists on his side, either.

Here’s something Chris Mathews said today that encapsulates what Mittens will be fighting against:

Is there going to be a reluctance on the part of the voters, and the political community that talks politics, as we get into November, about dumping the first African President, the first African-American President? Is that going to be something that just ratchets people — Waaait a minute here, this guy’s gonna knock out the first guy that ever got aboard?
