Liberal Media Bias And Stupidity At Its Finest

Liberal Media BiasIt’s been a while since I posted a rant about the media, so if you will, please allow me a few short minutes of your time. The media is more than worthy of any and all sarcasm and disdain you and I could possibly muster up. After all, not just any group can perform with bias and stupidity at the level the media has practiced.

On any given day, many different news stories come across the radar of the American media. Along with those of us who are actually paying attention to what is going on in our country, they have a myriad of stories from which to choose. President Obama is usually out campaigning, so he is always good for a story. Somewhere, a Republican will suggest our government should get itself under control, so that is almost certain to garner a few lines in a newspaper or blog, or a special report by some liberal media outlet. After that, the media is free to pursue other stories that are obviously more important to Americans. Case in point would be two different stories that we have seen unfold in the last week.

First, we have the case of Chris Dorner. By now, everyone knows who Chris Dorner is. The manhunt for the ex police officer is now in the history books and the man is dead. This is the first time I have written about Dorner’s saga and will not be going into details about what he did and why he did it. What puzzles me (not really) is why the media was so insistent about not reporting Dorner’s left-wing liberal leanings, to the point of removing his manifesto from public view? I think we all know the answer to that puzzlement. Contrary to how the liberal media reported the stories about the shootings in Arizona and Aurora, CO, where they tried their best to tie them to Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, and conservatives in general, they didn’t want the rest of the world knowing that Chris Dorner was a radical left-wing liberal who went on a rampage with a gun. Liberal media bias, at its finest.

The second story I want to talk about is how the media has went after Marco Rubio for taking a sip of water during his response to President Obama’s State of the Union speech. CNN declares they were only joking when they suggested the sip of water may have ended any future political aspirations Marco Rubio may have had. I don’t have a television, but the reports I have seen tell me that the clip of Rubio sipping the water has been played time after time on the liberal media outlets. With the fiscal condition of our country and the other threats staring us all in the face, the liberal media would rather be talking about Marco Rubio and his water. Give me a break. Liberal media stupidity, at its finest.

What about Benghazi and the deaths of our fellow Americans? What about Fast and Furious and the deaths of our Border Patrol Agents, as well as the Mexicans who died at the hands of the drug runners who were using the weapons acquired from the ATF? What about Jack Lew and his Cayman Island holdings? What about the other scandals who would have been a dark cloud hanging over any other administration, but instead are only a small footnote for President Obama?

To anyone who tries to tell me the media is unbiased, I say that’s a load of hogwash. They should give up their pretense and at least tell us the truth, that they are firmly in the corner of the most liberal president America has ever had in the White House.

  • The Liberal Media and stupidity.. Aren’t they one in the same?

    • That should be obvious, even to the casual observer.

  • I agree with you on the media bias. Throw in Candy Crowley’s whining about Dr. Ben Carson, asking whether his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast was offensive. Obama was in attendance and we wouldn’t want to offend the King.

Having said all of this I’m more than a little irritated with Marco Rubio. He gave a fine speech but rather than focusing on the words (or simply ignoring it in the case of the media) we’re focused on him taking a sip of water. I know that’s ridiculous but we’re in the television age. It seems that every single Republican from Richard Nixon on down to Rubio, with the sole exception of Reagan, has failed to grasp the optics of television. What Rubio did as absolutely unacceptable. Sip your water before the cameras role, otherwise suck it up and get through the speech. It’s all about optics and the optics of Rubio sipping water during a speech coupled with a piranha media are simply terrible.

    • I understand what you are saying about Rubio. He pulled the speech off nicely, but he was nervous, which was evidenced by him wiping his brow and sipping the water. Personally, I don’t have a problem at all with what he did, but the media is using it to their full advantage. Given their incessant desire to make Republicans look as bad as possible, maybe he should have refrained. At any rate, it is disgusting to see the media pay so much attention to something as simple as a sip of water.

      • I agree the media reaction to this is ridiculous. Having said that, the Republican Party has never figured out the art of optics. Rubio is the second up and coming “star” that has bombed in a response to an Obama SOTU. (Jindal bombed in 2009 and likely didn’t run for President because of it) The GOP never seems to learn anything from their past mistakes.

  • Good post Larry! The media used to try to hide its bias but it no longer feels the need to and they will do whatever it takes to protect Obama. The left is afraid of Rubio that is why they are trying to discredit him.

    • Thanks, Steve. No, the media seems to put very little effort into hiding their bias. They should just come out of the closet and admit their liberal leanings.

  • I think what bothers me the most, is how willingly people accept it. They refuse, with seemingly the utmost determination, to SEE what is going on. A nations media cannot be this blatantly one sided and corrupt, unless the very people that watch it are, for the most part, of like mind, or unable and unwilling, to check things out for themselves. Methinks de Tocqueville would be shocked at the lack of curiosity and industry of the very people he praised in his day.

    • As long as the people are being entertained, which seems to be their primary goal, they care little for what is going in around them in the real world. Thus, we have a generation of people who have no clue about Fast and Furious and Benghazi. What’s more, if they did know, they wouldn’t care.

I’d find that more of a fair criticism (and nothing on you, more of a general comment on the partisan media) if we saw Obama catching flak for his numerous ums and ahs whenever he goes off teleprompter. I’m just the wrong side of 40, but I remember that any time I had to speak in front of a class (from junior high on), there were points taken off for that.

It seems (big surprise) that there are two sets of rules in place, one for Leftists, and one for anyone else.

On the note of rules, maybe we should use some of the Propagandist Media/Leftist rules, and ask why they are all racists for criticizing a Hispanic man? Hasn’t that been the first, last and everything in-between refuge for Obama? That any criticism of him is racist? Shouldn’t that apply to Rubio, as well?

I don’t honestly believe it any more than I believe that any criticism of Obama is racist (as another poster on another blog posted, his skin color is the ONLY thing I don’t dislike about him!). But make the media and Dems dance for awhile, call them what they have called anyone who disagreed with Obama, force them to either live up to their own standards, or admit how useless, baseless, and dishonest those standards of theirs really are.

    Thanks for posting!

    • I’m not so sure that isn’t a good idea. A bully understands only one thing, violence. When confronted with the possibility that he will be on the receiving end of that violence, he can be forced to change his behavior. The same goes for the media and the unfair charges they have, and continue, to level at anyone who opposes the Obama administration. If we would start using some of their same tactics on them, they would possibly give a second thought to how they cover for Obama and attack anyone who dares challenge him.

  • Rubio drinks some water and his career is over. Menendez has sex with underage hookers and you hear nothing! The difference, of course, is one is a Republican and the other is a Democrat!

    • When you put it that way, the bias becomes even more apparent.

      • It really is that simple… of course there is no “analysis” pointing this out except on Conservative websites.

  • Seriously, the media is not stupid, they are blind Obama sycophants, what the media DOES though is contribute to the dumbing down of America.. The farther to the Left a particular media outlet leans, the more real damage they inflict..

    • Point taken, Fred. The media is clearly aware of what they are doing.

  • Dragonconservative

Well, I’ve never seen a case where this rule was broken, and the Obama administration is no exception: voters get what they deserve.

  • Welcome to Orwell’s the Ministry of Truth, huh?

  • Pete

In order to change the government we need to change the balance of left/right/center media. We need a couple of deeper pocket conservative / Independants to offer a 1 million dollar first prize, $500,000 second place and $250,000 third place for the best Internet based news program with comedy sketches and talent segments. Kind of like an on line American Idol for news program with the above segments. I would enjoy seeing Obama and other left wing types get lampooned. The left can’t go after their sponsers because they won’t have any.
