I can see it all very clearly in your writing here though. The part about them finding the air under their wings outside the loft reminded me of my daughter Hannah (I'm a mom, everything reminds me of her!) ... this week she received a Radio Flyer scooter, and watching her carefully testing how to scoot safely down the sidewalk is much like you described in watching the birds learn to fly. I have never known anyone with homing pigeons … I can see it all very clearly in your writing here though.
