Fallin and Brogdon to meet Wednesday

By Comments are off for this post

When I wrote yesterday’s article and asked if Randy Brogdon would endorse Mary Fallin for Governor of Oklahoma, I never expected the small firestorm that resulted in the comments. I also never expected it to be reprinted on Tulsa Today, but there it is, bigger than life. One of the comments mentioned that sources close to both campaigns were saying Mary and Randy had been talking since the day of the primary and there were rumors this morning that a meeting between the two was scheduled for Wednesday, August 4, in Oklahoma City. I didn’t want to post anything I did not know to be the truth, so I tried to confirm or deny the story. I can now confirm the meeting is scheduled to take place.

Here is what Alex Weintz, Mary Fallin’s communications director, had to say about the meeting between his boss and Randy Brogdon.

Mary and Randy are indeed scheduled to meet on Wednesday and to do a brief press availability afterwards. The details are still pending. We do of course have high hopes he will endorse Mary, either before or after this meeting, but that is a question for Senator Brogdon and not our campaign.

According to my sources, there is still no word if a possible Brogdon endorsement will be forthcoming, but the meeting and press briefing are scheduled and on track. I will post more about this, if and when it becomes available.
