Hey Larry – I tried Disqus too. Same thing… I started the import – it never took properly. Then, I reverted back to WP and ended up losing comments from all the posts during the time it was active.

I like the idea of people being able to comment with different login’s but at the end of the day… I really don’t care all that much. And WP works just fine. So…chalk me up as a dissatisfied user…

Actually, it is the same. I deactivated Disqus and am using the old system. As my wife tells me all the time, I need to stop tinkering with something that was already working.

As you can see, Disqus has been deactivated and all of my comments are back. Sometimes, if it isn’t broke, it doesn’t need to be fixed.

I thought your previous system was good and working well. E-mail notifications were prompt. It had the valuable advantage that it listed the title and link to the last post of the person commenting. This last feature is very important and attractive to most people, and it makes them leave more comments. It is too bad that Disqus doesn’t provide it. I hope your readers won’t miss it too much.

You can always go back to the way you had it. I liked the way it was.

I am pleased with it so far, other than not being able to import my comments. Disqus says it imported them and then I synced them, but they are not showing up.

I think I have it figured out. There was a setting in Suffusion, the theme I use, that was turned off. Now, it is displaying the comments and reactions on the right side of the post excerpt.
