No time to watch the interview yet, but I will. For now, can we just enjoy the irony of a Democrat-usually concerned about process to the detriment of legislative effectiveness-doesn't want to talk about process? :)

I am glad to see that Texas' Lieutenant Governor is standing with other states in bringing a lawsuit against the government if this bill is passed. It is totally unamerican and the dems know it. If this bill passed and was left to stand America would go broke and the progressives would reach out to grab our freedoms away from us. Take Back America, don't let this bill pass or stand. I am a three time cancer survivor, no one helped me pay my bills, and I don't want them too. I have survived and my husband and I still live in the home we are paying for. I know that medicaid helps pay for a lot of folks chemo etc...but if this healthcare reform passes, cancer patients will not get the treatment they choose and need.

My problem with Obama was always that if first you don't focus on his words, you have to look at track record to see if his words were meaningful or at least similar to actions. Since he had no track record, then you had to analyze his associations and affiliations (we all know that story). I was willing to overlook these to a minor extent, as he distanced himself from them, but as I wrote before the election, I likened him to a snake-oil salesman that will tell you what you want to hear, and sounds so good selling it, you'll buy turd in a bottle. Look back to when he won his Senate seat. He was interviewed and asked if he was considering a run for president in 2008. He replied he would not, as he would basically have to immediately start campaigning from that day, and that he did not have the experience yet to run.

Here we are with him as president, despite his words and promises, yet people believe anything he promises. Personally, I believe he lies with every word, until we can prove otherwise... which we have rarely done.

"smoke and mirror math" is right. Yes, the direct premium to individuals may go down, but tax and fee increases and government subsidizing along with typical government ineptitude and inefficiency will make actual costs go up.

Look to the USPS as the shining example. People think the cost of a stamp is cheap. But add in the $billions of losses, and those stamps aren't so cheap. But people don't often notice this, so it continues. The same would happen with any government involvement in healthcare, except healthcare is a little higher priority than receiving junk mail.

My problem with this man, like many lawyers and career politicians, is his inability to often answer a direct question with a direct answer. Many people have forgotten the question that Baier (or they) have asked before the talkaround.

I felt the interview went terribly. The interviewee refused to answer questions as he did not respect either the interviewer or the questions.

Costs will go up, all around, just as they have, if not worse. Since the New England Journal of Medicine is now stating that approximately 30% of Doctors will quit if ObamaCare passes (Almost 45% if there is a public option), there will be additional stresses to the system. I can't blame the Doctors for getting out of a bad system, many of them are complaining now. But I think that the government would treat that development as another crisis to exploit, and would grab more power with such a "justification."

When President Obama first took office, I determined that I was going to treat him fairly and honestly, which is much different than how President Bush was treated by the Democrats. I do my best to stay objective about the things Obama is doing and attempting to do, but every day, he makes it harder to do. There is much going on that leads me to believe the American people are in for a very long three years. If he wins reelection in 2012, then we can expect an even greater push for his agenda.

;) Well, I try to be optimistic about these things, but my optimism is failing fast. I am no expert on these matters, but I can not see anything good coming from this legislation or the way they are attempting to do an end run around the Constitution and what the founding fathers intended.

Like I said in the article, I feel like they are using a lot of smoke and mirror math and it's hard to figure out exactly what is going to happen, if this bill is signed into law. The more complicated it is, the less likely it is that the average American citizen will have a clue what is happening.

I guess they are claiming he meant to say $3,000, that makes allot more sense, I didn't think my math skills were that bad. :) But I still am not sure I believe that number either, there is too much conflicting info to know for sure what is going to happen.
